Power up Your Productivity: Go from 'Zzz' to '10X-Zing'!

Distraction management, that’s a hefty word. But I think we all need it these days. It’s so easy to slip up and open apps that you do not need in the moment, I personally struggle with this and this automation helps me a lot

When your calender has a task that has the label “No Distraction”, you can trigger to block apps like Slack or Gmail, which are some apps I tend to open a lot for the heck of it.

It helps me a lot and it reinforces that it’s indeed a “No Distraction” task

PS: I am using Zapier for this automation

Is it real or AI? The misinformation wildfire

The European Union is pushing online platforms like Google and Meta to step up the fight against false information by adding labels to text, photos, and other content generated by artificial intelligence, a top official said Monday. EU Commission Vice President Vera Jourova said, "The ability of a new generation of AI chatbots to create complex content and visuals in seconds raises fresh challenges for the fight against disinformation."

Jourova specifically asked tech companies, including Google, Meta, Microsoft, and TikTok, to address the issue of AI-generated disinformation. She stated, "Companies offering services that have the potential to spread AI-generated disinformation should roll out technology to recognize such content and clearly label this to users." However, these companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Jourova emphasized the need to find a balance between protecting free speech and preventing AI from having the freedom of speech.

“I don't see any right for the machines to have the freedom of speech."

Europe has been taking a lead role in regulating artificial intelligence through the AI Act, but the legislation is still awaiting final approval and will not take effect for several years. Concerns are rising in the EU regarding the rapid development of generative AI technology. Recent instances of debunked deepfakes, such as a realistic picture of Pope Francis in a white puffy jacket, have highlighted the urgency to act. Jourova called for immediate labeling of AI-generated content and warned companies like Twitter that leaving the code of conduct would face scrutiny for compliance with EU law.
